Game stats

See which games your server plays most

ODIN keeps a tally of the games your members play, and /games ranks the titles by total play time, with the number of sessions. Run it in Discord for the top 10 of the last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or all time. It never names a member.

Last 30 Days · Top 10 · ODIN

Sample dataODIN's answer to /games in Night Owls, a made-up server, for the last 30 days. The titles are made up too.

What /games shows

Run /games in any channel and ODIN answers with the games your server plays most: the top 10 titles, ranked by the total play time of all members, with the number of sessions next to each one.

Choose the window with the timeframe option: Last 24 Hours, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days or All Time. The default is 30 days.

The reply is a public message, so anyone who can read the channel sees it. It lists games, not people: no member is named.

The timeframe option

Last 24 Hours
The titles played in the last 24 hours.
Last 7 Days
The titles played in the last 7 days.
Last 30 Days
The titles played in the last 30 days. The default.
All Time
Everything ODIN has recorded for your server.

How a game is counted

ODIN counts a game while a member's Discord status says Playing. Streaming, listening, watching and a custom status do not count, and neither do bot accounts.

For each stretch of play, ODIN stores the title, when play started and when it stopped, the server and the member's Discord user id. Nothing else of the activity is kept.

A title is listed once at least three members have played it in the window you chose. A game that one or two members tried stays off the board until more of them join in.

Turn it on with /odin enable

Game tracking is off by default, like voice tracking. Someone with the Administrator permission runs /odin enable, and it turns voice tracking and game tracking on together. /odin disable turns both off.

Did your server enable ODIN before game tracking existed? Run /odin enable once more to include games. /odin status shows whether both are on.

While game tracking is off, ODIN records no game activity and /games has nothing to show.

Tracking switches

/odin enable
Turns voice and game tracking on together. Administrator permission.
/odin disable
Turns both off. Administrator permission.
/odin status
Shows whether both are on. Any member can run it.

Privacy: what ODIN sees and stores

Discord sends ODIN the presence of members (their online status and current activities) in every server ODIN is in. ODIN holds it in memory and stores none of it, apart from the game titles and play times of a server where game tracking is on.

Any member can run /odin optout. You disappear from every board, profile and statistic in that server, /games included, and ODIN stops tracking your voice time and your games there. What was recorded before is kept but not shown, and /odin optin reverses it.

ODIN never reads message content and never records audio, and the website never shows game titles or play times. Read the privacy page for the details.

Games and your data

ODIN stores

  • The title of a game shown as Playing
  • When play started and when it stopped
  • The server and your Discord user id

ODIN does not store

  • Message content or audio
  • Your online status or custom status
  • Streaming, listening or watching activities

History from the earlier ODIN

Game history recorded by the earlier ODIN bot was brought over, and /games shows it together with what ODIN records now. Members who opted out are left out.

Frequently asked questions

Does ODIN see what I play?

Discord sends ODIN your presence (your online status and current activities) in every server it is in, and ODIN holds it in memory. It stores only the title of a game shown as Playing, with its play times, and only where an admin turned game tracking on. ODIN never reads message content and never records audio.

Why is a game missing from /games?

A title is listed once at least three members have played it in the window you chose, so try Last 30 Days or All Time. A game also does not count when it was not shown as Playing: streaming, listening, watching and custom statuses are ignored, and so are bot accounts. And game tracking has to be on in your server.

How do I turn on game tracking?

Someone with the Administrator permission runs /odin enable, which turns voice tracking and game tracking on together. If your server enabled ODIN before game tracking existed, run /odin enable again to include games. /odin status shows whether both are on.

Can I hide my games?

Yes. /odin optout hides you from every board, profile and statistic in that server, /games included, and stops ODIN tracking your voice time and your games there. Your earlier data is kept but not shown, and /odin optin reverses it. It covers voice and games together.

Are game stats on the website?

No. /games is a Discord command, and the website never shows game titles or play times. The website has the voice leaderboards, levels and streaks, and a stats dashboard for each server.
